  Family Planning (FP) Waiver Services

 

Overview


Through the Family Planning (FP) waiver, family planning services are available to females age 10-55 if their family income is at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Net income (after income and child care deductions) for a family of 4 cannot exceed $3,400 per month.

Benefits


Women who apply and are determined eligible are eligible for 12 months. Pregnant women, after delivery and moving to the Family Planning waiver program, are eligible for 10 months of family planning services. Benefits received by both groups include the full range of family planning services covered by the South Carolina Medicaid program. A re-determination is required once a year.

Get an Application


Applications may be obtained from the Department of Health and Human Services or from out-stationed locations such as the County Health Departments , federally qualified rural health centers, most hospitals and the county Department of Social Services. Applications for Medicaid may be filed in person or by mail.
